Setting Goals with a Vision Board

If you think vision boards don’t work, then joke’s on you. Visualization of your goals is one of the most powerful mind exercises that you can do. When you focus on what you want and take the time to visualize it, those dreams will come to life.

The law of attraction is the belief that by focusing on positive thoughts, a person will bring positive experiences into their life. It is important to write down your goals and share them with someone.

Creating a vision board is an extension of goal setting, it is creating a visual reminder for you to see and reference daily. To help you stay on track and continue to utilize the law of attraction to achieve your goals.

4 steps to creating a vision board

Four steps to creating your vision board:

1. Make a list of the top areas of focus for your life, pick 3 to 4 areas. Mine are family & friends, career, fitness and always learning. Maybe you’ve been thinking about running a marathon, finding a new job or taking a month long sabbatical to backpack through Europe. The key here is to focus on what is important to you.

2. Dream big. Think big and define your goals. These are things that you want, not things that you currently have, not the situation that you are currently in. Take time to be still, be away from the noise of everyday life. Sit down with a notepad and pen… and dream. And write those dreams down.

3. Clip or pin images. Grab some magazines or head over to Pinterest and start collecting images that speak to your goals.

4. Be accountable. Place your vision board somewhere you will see it often. Below is my vision board for 2018, I will be printing it out and placing it in my journal that I take everywhere with me.
